11-Year-Anniversary Trip - Part I

For our 11-year wedding anniversary this year, we took a one-day trip to Lake Arrowhead.  I am determined to make our anniversary super special each year, if we can, by getting away somewhere.

This is on the way up.  It's Silverwood Lake.  Many people confuse the name with our community, Silver Lakes.

We stayed at the Lake Arrowhead Resort, and paid a little extra for a lake view.  This was our lake view.  Not all that impressive, huh?
Beautiful resort, though.  Stunning.

Our accomodations were luxurious.  Eric actually liked the bed, which is a first.

Here are some shots of the lake.  I love the Switzerlandish feel with all the Tudor-style buidlings.

A magnificent lake, huh?  So pretty.

Below:  Couldn't help but get a shot of some of the mansions up there.  Wow.

Open House and Science Fair

Abby's science fair project was on acids and bases and whether or not you can tell something is an acid or a base by its taste.  Very interesting, huh?  I thought so.  She and Daddy had a great time doing it together.

AND she won an "honorable mention" ribbon for it too!  Yahoo! :)

Here's Essie standing next to her pattern-block creation at her desk.

Student of the Month Award

Abby was given the student of the month award for the month of January.  Award ceremony took place in March, though, which is why these are being uploaded so late.
This is the award for all-around good behavior/good student.
We are very proud of her.

Friday Nights

Friday nights are fun (for us and for the kids).  Eric and I go out for dinner and some necessary shopping, and my parents watch the kiddos.  Every.  Friday.  Night.
What a blessing!  Thanks again, Dad and Mom!!
Here the girls are reading books to their girls in "bed."

Not sure why Caleb is stacking all the cars underneath his racecar track.  My mom took these photos, but...probably because he wants to see how high the racecar will go and still make it around the track?  He's such a boy.

Family Visit

My uncle Bill and aunt Conni, their daughter Erin (my cousin) and her two boys (Jack and Ethan) came for a two-night, three-day visit a couple weeks back.  Erin wanted to get a visit in before her new little guy arrives in early April.  She and the boys slept in Caleb's room (as is our routine).  Caleb slept in Abby and Essie's room, and my uncle and aunt brought their tent trailer and slept out in the driveway, so it was one grand adventure.  It really was so much fun.
We were very blessed to help celebrate my aunt's birthday with her.  My mom made a HUGE chocolate/whipped-cream cake.  Yummers!

Taking a ride on the golf cart to breakfast at my folk's house.

Family "Tree" :)
(Gotta love Caleb's tongue-out expression.  He thinks he's being funny.  Grr.)

Lizzy and JJ

My nephew and niece, JJ and Lizzy, made their first trip up to see us a couple weekends ago.  The kids were in hog heaven, especially the girls.  They SO want to be little mommies, and WHAT an opportunity!  They were able to help feed the babies a lot.  Just think: TWINS!  Double the pleasure.
