The Hillsboro 4th of July Parade is a yearly tradition for us. We try to get up to Eric's folks' house up in Hillsboro, Oregon, every year just to make it in time for the 4th.
In the evening we enjoy a small fireworks show out in front of the Carmichaels' house put on by Eric and his brother Bret. The 4th is something we look foward to every year.

Esther told me a story the other day about a boy who told her that her grown-up teeth (in front) were too big and he didn't like them. She replied, "Well, you just wait until you get your grown-up teeth; they're going to be too big too!"
Water guns are a huge hit in the parade. You're lucky not to get pelted with water at some point. In the heat of the morning, it actually would feel kinda good.
