Jesus, Come Into My Heart

Yesterday in the car, Essie and Daddy were having a conversation about heaven and about seeing our loved ones there someday (Grandma's recent passing has sparked a lot of these conversations lately). So Daddy was explaining that if you have Jesus in your heart, you'll go to heaven someday and be with Him. Essie was processing all of this information and kept asking more and more questions, and the end of the conversation went something like this:

Daddy: If you ask Jesus to come into your heart, He'll come and live inside of you.

Essie: Beside me?

Daddy: Well, He comes into your heart and lives with you.

Essie: Jesus comes and lives inside me?

Daddy: Yes. All you have to do is say, "Jesus, please come into my heart."

Essie: Jesus, come into my heart.

She's not yet three. Almost.

Precious.

Little Pumpkins

So we decided to make our annual pumpkin patch trip today.

The wheelbarrow is getting pretty full!

It was a beautiful day, but rather hot -- in the 90s.
I was proud of the kids and how well they handled the heat.

Caleb, don't eat the dead leaves!!

Abby had to get one more shot in the "girl" pumpkin.

Waiting for their [$7!!!] pony ride.

She was excited about it...

...until she actually got on the thing. :)

Abby LOVED it!!

Essie -- not so much.
Part of the problem was the fact that she was caddywampus in the saddle and kept thinking she was going to fall off.

But they didn't seem to notice she was crooked (even though we kept trying to let them know), so off she promptly came (and we were partially refunded for her "ride").

They were nice enough to give Caleb a free sit.

These are called "Cinderella pumpkins." Of course, Abby wanted to get one. ;)

Munchkins

Can you tell by his expression we kind of like each other?

Above: Just about to sneeze.

These may all look the same to you, but to me, they are each different.
Priceless.

Yes, Abby is swinging on Essie's lap.
Hilarity.

Then, of course, Essie had to give it a whirl.

It is so good to watch them become such good friends...

They are playing so well together lately.
Makes this mama's heart ~~SING~~!

When the smiles start looking painful, you know you've gotta stop. :)
