No pictures lately. My parents have had the camera in their possession, as they recently took a trip to the Grand Canyon.
But I thought I'd give you some cute things the girls have been doing as of late.
Every morning I go walking with the girls, I turn down the last mile stretch toward home, which I call academic mile. This is where I teach Abby to count from 1 to 40, her A, B, Cs, her address, phone number, memory verses, and other related things. Well, I never imagined Esther would imbibe this information, I guess by process of osmosis! Hahaha! So lately, she's been counting; she seems to effectively be able to get to what sounds like four, and then it's just a gobblygook of sounds after that, but what's so cute about it is, those gobblygooks are all said with the right inflection and spacing with which we count, and when she gets to the teens, she says the gobblygook using two-syllables, usually with the sound "ty" for "teen" as the second syllable. For example, she'll say "fin - ty," "orn - ty," "mak - ty" etc... So hard to capture in words, obviously. It's just so incredibly cute.
Also, Abby has been using Zoophonics to learn her alphabet sounds, thanks to GG Bergman who bought it for the girls as a birthday present. After using the cards 3 or 4 times, she knows about 19 of the 26 sounds of the alphabet! Wow! We're mighty impressed. :)
