The Faith of a Child

I had to write this one down. Today, while on our morning walk, I started out by announcing our mission would be to find Esther's missing mitten, which we lost on our walk yesterday due to her carelessly tossing it out of the stroller. Abby took it on as her mission, almost like she was on a Dora the Explorer adventure. "I see it, Mama!" was announced every minute or so, whether she was seeing a leaf or a rock.

Midway through the walk, I prayed, "Jesus, help us find Esther's mitten. Amen." Ten minutes later, I was announcing defeat. "I don't think we're going to find it." Then Abby decided to pray, "Jesus, please help us find Essie's mitten. It's so important. Thanks." I let out an audible *sigh* and cast a heavenward glance, like, "Okay, Lord, how can you deny that request?" It wasn't ten seconds later, and we found the mitten lying on the ground!

Love that story - and that she said it was 'important'. So sweet! And I love that you're updating the blog!
